From BWCAWiki
Muskeg Lake is a small but scenic lake in the eastern BWCAW near Long Island Lake. Muskeg is surrounded on the north, east, and south by high ridges and hills. There is one campsite on Muskeg Lake.
Muskeg Lake is named after the swampy material of the same name, which is found in the area, although Muskeg Lake has relatively little in the lake itself.

Connections
- A 4 rod portage bypasses a boulder-filled channel which drains Muskeg Lake to the west into Long Island Lake. In high water it may be possible to paddle or wade through this channel. The short portage returns to the swampy drainage, which leads to a 20 rod portage to the east end of Long Island Lake.
- A challenging 185 rod portage climbs up a steep ridge to the east, ending at the west end of Kiskadinna Lake. This portage climbs 160 feet in elevation from Muskeg, mainly in the steep middle portion.
