Gillis Lake

Gillis Lake is a medium-sized lake (579 acres) in the eastern Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It has a maximum depth of 180 feet. It can be a popular destination for paddlers entering the BWCAW via the Missing Link Lake and Brant Lake entry points. There are connections from Gillis to French Lake, Bat Lake, Crooked Lake, and Fern Lake. The northern and western shores of Gillis Lake were burned in the 2006 Cavity Lake Fire. The lake contains lake trout and northern pike.
