Reminder on CanoeCountry.com board
I've posted about this site a few times on one of the more active BWCA message boards, CanoeCountry.com with little result. Just posted again with more specific info about how to help. It'd be great to get some of the knowledgeable people from there contributing here. -Gerg 09:42, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
Freedom of Information Act request (6/5/2006)
I filed a FOIA request with the Forest Service office in Milwaukee (responsible for "eastern region," including Superior National Forest) for all digital images of the Boundary Waters. I also filed one for any entry point maps. Curious to see where it goes and if I get anything. If so, it'd be great, as it would all be public domain, copyright-free. -Gerg 12:25, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
- Well, I heard back from someone in the Superior Nat'l Forest office. They seemed pretty overwhelmed at the prospect of my request. My request was exploratory and I have no intention of forcing them to complete it. It was just way too broad. They seem willing to work with me, so I'm hoping to get a nice, copyright-free digital map of the BWCA entry points. Also, whatever digital photos they can easily provide. I'll keep you all posted. :) -Gerg 09:40, 16 June 2006 (PDT)
